Betty | Lop

Betty is three years old.  Her husband has recently died leaving her all alone plus Betty went for spaying and was found to have a cancerous womb.  The operation was a success but the vet can’t guarantee the cancer won’t return.  If it does, there is no other treatment that can be given she’ll just go downhill and will need her last days as comfortable as possible.  This of course may never happen and she could lead a full and happy life.  Of course, we want any potential owners to know of her issues before adoption.  A link to more photos and a short video http://s376.photobucket.com/user/nikmurphy/library/Lincoln%20Bunnies/Peachy%20and%20Betty?sort=3&page=1

Honey | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Honey, Lickle Staffie, DOB 2007 – Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Honey needs a family who are confident with bull breeds as she has so much to offer when given reassurance and guidance. Honey has lived with a cat and a caged rabbit. She has also lived with very young children. Honey has lived with other dogs between January -April 2013 too. Honey would enjoy a secure garden.

VIDEO: Honey Staffie! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6EshE3dIgc

Her Story: Her Story:  Owners didn't have the confidence to introduce her to dogs and when they split in 2012 Honey wasn't being walked at all. She lost her home in January, came into Staffierescue and was in a multi dog household then homed in with a male Staffie for 3 months. She was returned as her new owners came to appreciate 2 young dog are too much for the wife with young children and they need to promote their original dog's skills. Honey is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Honey in kennels in the Gatwick area.

Advert: Honey is sweet. She had proven skills around young children in her original home and 9 & 12 year old children in her recent home. She is gaining fluency with other dogs but as with bitches she can tell another dog off if they are too fast and too forward ... no damage just handbags! Meets dogs well. With clear management she continues to develop and needs to continue to build confidence around other dogs. She is housetrained and travels well in the car.

Honey is a small compact 5 year old Staffie. She is shy and submissive in new situations but she soon settles and her fun and cheeky side comes out. She is sensitive to command and engages in activities with direction from her owners. She needs a situation where her new owners can offer her further input so she builds further skills based on positive success and feedback.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Peter | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Peter, Staffie, DOB 2011 - Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Peter needs stability and doggie experience behind him. He is still a little leapy and mouthy but there is nothing behind it. He meets dogs with enthusiasm and joy. Peter needs a fair sized secure garden to enjoy an active life style centered around his needs. Not for live-in young children and needs energy calmed with reference to any visiting children. Secondary exit management a must as Peter's enthusiasm directs towards 'bids for freedom' and that may explain why he was found stray.

VIDEO: Peter being his bashful self! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV5m1706ZVs&feature=youtu.be

VIDEO: Peter more settled for a moment! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xxzymyr9s6A&feature=youtu.be

His Story: Peter was found stray and ran out of time. We agreed to save his life despite not having sufficient kennel space ... he deserved to live. Peter is neutered, chipped, KC treated and in the process of vacs.

Advert: Blue Peter is full of fun, youth and adventure! He meets dogs well and after a period of settling in and a training course for his owners and him, he will probably make the 'off lead dog' in safe areas. But a training course is a must for him and a refresher for new owners! He travels well and is chilled with cars passing. He has a lively interest in his surroundings out on walks which gives him a very pleasurable air to his walk. He needs to be managed around exits as his keenness can mean he's off on 'walk abouts'. Peter deserves security and care.

Peter is a blue brindle Staffie around 2 years young with a white chest and front toes. He is a cheeky Staffie with a very affectionate centre to his disposition. He hears your commands on about the 3-4 attempt outside which is fair considering he is in transition in kennels and overwhelmed when offered walks. He will come on a treat with a treat!

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Homing Requirements: Ollie needs a Staffie family who can enjoy his many gifts and manage him around bouncy off lead dogs when they approach him. He needs to be an only pet. He would delight in his own secure garden.  An opportunist with food, he can open lever doors. Ollie can be left for short periods.

VIDEO: Ollie playing - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFIhvxWJcSY

His Story: Ollie owner stood by him for 5 years but couldn't find accommodation with Ollie. He did a 'boot camp' training course in preparation for rehoming. Ollie is neutered; chipped and vax'd. Ollie has had a series of foster placements during his long wait for rehoming and is currently kennelled in Godstone, Surrey.

Advert: Ollie is a great Staffie who loves people.  Ollie welcomes visitors including children though has not lived with children.  He meets most dogs well outside, can get flustered when off lead bouncy, dogs approach him. Ollie is housetrained and manages well when left for short periods.  Ollie loves the car, loves lying next to you on the sofa and loves to sleep on the bed: Ollie is an inclusive dog. Ollie is such a character and he steals your heart.

Ollie is a beautiful 7 year old Staffie with a soft lemon coat. He is chilled and loves relaxing in company. He doesn't like to be closed in and left out, when guests arrive he is convinced they've come to see HIM! Ollie likes to be with you on the sofa and sleep beside your bed! Ollie is trained and has a good command of instructions. Ollie is a really lovely Staffie who so needs his family around him.

Mario | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Mario, Staffie, DOB 01.12 - Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Mario needs a family whose expectations are towards what they can offer Mario to overcome his concerns and so that he will learn to settle his nerves around other dogs. Exit management needs to be ensured and a secure garden to enjoy. Family with older children but a well thought through strategy around managing a dog nervous of dogs accompanied by children outside.

VIDEO: Mario walking with SuzieBee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTC0I9Z5EjU&feature=youtu.be

His Story: Mario was handed in by his owner. He has grown up with young children, apparently he was attacked as a puppy by several dogs and the owners kept him away from dogs and seldom walked him. Couldn't keep him any longer as hasn't got time for him so handed him to the local dog warden. Mario is neutered, chipped and fully vax'd.

Advert: Mario came into rescue before Christmas. He wants to ignore dogs, will bark if he feels threatened and has very low self-esteem. He walks in the vicinity of other dogs just going about his own business, but is conscious of them. He can wag his tail but needs to gradually acquire a sense of safety around them. Mario adores people and the vet had a problem vaccinating him due to the face wash being liberally given!

Mario is a little white Staffie who is such a pretty boy. A sweet button face and his eyes shining with love and enthusiasm. He will need the right owners and they will know how to slowly give him a sense of safety in his own walking territory and to get him to tolerate accompanied non-threatening walks with leaded dogs. Mario is a treasure in the home and adores children.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Bongo | Cross Breed

Bongo, Mastiff X Dogue de Bordeaux X American Bulldog DOB 27.02.10 Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Bongo needs a family who are comfortable with managing a big dog who works with you but needs his energy and strength guided and steered. Bongo needs to be an only dog but has lived with a dog friendly cat. He is a well trained dog who is so happy to please. He can drool. Deserves a fair sized secure garden and would like an 'at home' scenario that he is used to.

His Story: Bongo was found straying and his microchip traced him back to his former address a few doors away from his breeders who still have his mum and dad. Bongo is good with dogs but always lived as an only dog but spent a lot of time with his parents staying overnight frequently as a puppy and young dog. Bongo is neutered, chipped and fully vax'd. Kennelled in Godstone, Surrey.

Advert: Bongo, Bongo going going Bong! What a wonderful boy ... a big sop of a dog whose wealth of talent and generosity of spirit is apparent. He is obedient and receptive to input and command.   Bongo grew up with a cat and enjoyed visiting grandchildren between 4 and 11 years old. Bongo has been well treated and command trained. He loves treats!

Bongo's mother is an American Bulldog X Dogue de Bordeaux and his father is a Bull Mastiff X Ridgeback. Yes a large cross breed but not a cross bone in his body. A very gentle giant, no qualms being in the paddock with him 20 minutes into our relationship. He was just grateful to chill. Good on his walks and truly a companion. He particularly likes women but is happy to be managed by men too. Stunned by his size and power! Wowed by his personality and kindness!

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Bow | Cross Breed

Bow, Crossbreed, DOB ?2009 – Gatwick, Surrey

Homing Requirements:  Bow needs stability as an only dog or with another playful dog. She needs introduction to life again where the focus this time is her needs not exploitation. She would cherish a secure garden.

Her Story:  Bow is a Cockney girl found within the sound of Bow Bells! Found abandoned still with milk, she has had many litters. She has a few recent marks on her head and we suspect she lived in a multi-dog household and had a fight concerning her puppies and was thrown out. Pound Staff really loved her and asked us if we would do them and her a huge favour and take her if they spayed her and delivered her which we did. Bow is neutered, to be chipped and vax'd. Currently kennelled in the Gatwick, Surrey area.

Advert:  Bow is an ex-Glamour girl with her make-up still intact! She adores dogs and is very playful but does tone it down if it doesn't suit the other dogs. She seems to revel in the feel of grass as though she has only ever been used to hard surfaces...so if you are standing still Bow will be rolling on her back in delight. Bow has a welcoming personality and seems so delighted to meet everyone and every dog. She is a Bow Wow!

Bow is a StaffieX and red with white accessories! Bow is around 3-4 years old if not younger. She has an amazing smile and an almost clown face which comes through from her Staffie parentage. She is happy to mix with people and dogs although unsure she soon trusts. You just feel her life is ready to take off as a family dog who will learn quickly and settle in when offered affection and a caring home.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Topman | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

TopMan, Staffie, DOB 2011 – Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: TopMan deserves a stable family behind him. He meets dogs well and has a lively energy which would benefit from an active regime. Secure garden and exit management. We think he is too keen for cats or small furries.

Video: TopMan lickle Staffie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eg7I8QTRBgU&feature=youtu.be

Video: TopMan watching the Rabbits! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii-Y8oy_K6U&feature=youtu.be

His Story: TopMan was found stray or abandoned and waited 6 weeks for a rescue place and no offers. We were approached and we agreed to help little TopMan. TopMan was already neutered and being vax'd.

Advert: TopMan is just that … Top of the Class! He has a keen intelligence and would benefit from a training class. He is alert and receptive to command once relaxed on his walk. No lead play though as he can leap for kisses! Walking TopMan is a joy as he brings you alive and meets dogs well and is happy with parallel walking. Easy to handle and in the kennels keen for his walks and cuddles.

He is a small brindle Staffie with a white blaze on his chest and a super smile. We think he is young, around 2 years old. TopMan needs a family. We haven't had the opportunity to assess him in the home but no real qualms or concerns. He is amenable and delights in company.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Zeus | Cross Breed

Zeus, American Bulldog X Staffie, DOB 2012 – Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Zeus is a young large bull breed who needs confidence behind his lead so we are looking for large dog experience to support him. Zeus isn't able to command off lead encounters successfully so needs further training and management to ensure other dog encounters go well as they do within parallel meeting encounters at the kennels. Zeus needs a secure garden and exit management. Zeus has grown up with another dog but would probably be better living as an only dog.

His Story: Zeus was gifted to a girlfriend as a puppy then left with the mother when the relationship split and owner moved out. He lived successfully with the owners other bull breed dog but she found it hard to manage both dogs outside and Zeus had 2 negative encounters when off lead and his now owner couldn't cope. Zeus has had no formal training. Zeus is now neutered, chipped and vax'd.

Advert: Zeus is a tender soul who meets people well and is coping being in kennels despite his young age. He is accomplished in most areas and receptive to new people and is beginning to meet other dogs well in a controlled fashion as we do at the kennels. Tall and kind. Housetrained and travels well. Zeus's whole demeanour is sincere and affectionate.

Zeus had a Staffordshire Bull terrier mother with an American Bulldog father. His stature is of the American Bulldog and yet he has the Staffie soft head and eyes. Zeus has been well socialised to a point but needs more support before he can ever be expected to command off lead meetings with other dogs. He isn't ready for this and is content to be guided by his handler. There seems nothing rash or brash about Zeus … he is just lush!

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Euston | American Bulldog

Euston, American Bulldog, DOB 08, Godstone

Homing Requirements: A family taking on an American Bulldog have to, as with large dog owners, walk beside their dog gaining rapport, offering reassurance and supporting it as it settles in a new environment. We would be looking for large dog experience, ideally bull breed, family to ensure Euston isn't wrongly judged and that he gains the support he needs. To be homed to an adult home as an only pet.

His Story: Euston very nervously arrived into the pound in ?March 12 and was homed perhaps too prematurely from the pound. He has since received a lot of input and gained self confidence and presents as a well-balanced dog.  Euston is neutered, chipped and vax'd.

Advert: Euston ... we have lift off! Yes Euston has come a long way in the year he has effectively been in rescue. He has come to us a changed dog to the dog that arrived off the streets. He is happy to walk alongside other dogs and at this stage is allowed off lead with a muzzle to mingle with 16 other off lead dogs and did so well. Euston needs an owner who can continue to nurture his skills and confidence, offering him reassurance as he emerges. He is a large dog and needs an owner happy with a large dog as their best friend.

Euston is an American Bulldog, pure white with poker dot ears!  He has come a long way and is friendly, confident and receptive to meeting dogs and need the next step in coming into his own within a family unit and forever home.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Please visit Euston’s thread on our forum: http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/sutra117323.php#117323 to find out if he is still available and for fuller details.

Bailey | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Bailey, female Staffie, DOB ?07 – Gatwick, West Sussex

Homing Requirements: Bailey needs a caring family to provide her with a home as an only pet. She generally is happy meeting dogs where vibes are good, but would air snap if an off lead dog flew over and was 'gushing'. She is delightful when meeting people and would be tolerant around dog savvy older children. Needs a secure garden or an enclosed area to explore off lead freedom.

Her Story: Bailey is around 5 years old with a lovely settled energy but lots of personality and a fun nature. Bailey is neutered, chipped and vax'd. Currently in emergency kennelling near Gatwick, West Sussex and awaiting her foster place or home.

Advert: Bailey is definitely Whiskey and Cream! She has alovely mellow, sweet temperament. She is receptive and open to meeting all andso happy if a walk is on offer! She hasn't yet been assessed in a homeenvironment but shows herself to be clean and non-destructive in her kennel. She walks alongside other dogs well and if barged into will tell them off buton the whole is fluent.

Bailey is a pretty red fawn coloured Staffie. She isn't too muscular and has a gentle feel about her with a soft coat to touch. She is still young and would love to have owners who will rejoice in her and offer her happy walks and a free range life style to relax in and achieve contentment!

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Max | Cross Breed

Max, Dogue de Bordeaux X, DOB 02.10 – Godstone, Surrey

Homing Requirements: Max needs a family who are familiar with large breeds. Max needs a secure garden or a secure area close by where he can run off lead. He will need further recall training & to be thoroughly assessed with reference to his fluency with off lead dogs so he can come off lead. Proven with 7 year old children upwards of sound temperament and well meaning. Interested in cats and dogs outside and need gentle introductions.

His Story: Max came to our notice as he was being put to sleep the next day and not having a kennel available, we agreed to save him but needed a few days to find a kennel space which we were given. Max is neutered, chipped and vax'd.

Advert: Max is a medium large dog, a little shy and a bit of a ‘woos’ but not nervous just a little wary. He loves meeting people and his back quarters articulate with delight. He isn't licky but is a best friend and cuddly. Travels well after settling and will attempt to get into the footwell. Gets concerned with off lead dogs and will pull to meet other dogs but when managed he settles though he needs further support in this area.

Max is a Dogue de Bordeaux X with a glorious head to prove it. He is a little under weight and doesn't have the bulk of a pure breed. He is about 3-4 years old. A well mannered dog who will make the most wonderful family dog. Max is a very visual dog who can talk to the telly, is alert to others around him and takes his reassurance from his handler.

Please note that this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found.

Please visit Max’s thread on our forum: http://rescueremedies.myfastforum.org/sutra115584.php#115584 o find out if he is still available and for fuller details.

India | Lurcher
India is a 2 year old very pretty galgo  who is just looking for a new family to love.  She is a very affectionate  dog who just wants a chance of having a happy ever after life with a new family.

India is super friendly with everyone and would be happy living as an only dog or with other dogs. If she was to be an only dog you would need to be around for most of the day.

She is looking for an active family who likes to enjoy nice long walks.  Once home India will just chill out in her bed or your sofa and rest.  India would love to learn recall so she can run around off lead.  We expect that India is cat friendly, provided the proper introductions are made.

India has lost her tail in an accident but she is so pretty you don't really notice. This funny girl should quickly adapt toher new home and make a loving and lovable family pet.

India is vaccinated, has had flea and worm treatments, and has been microchipped and neutered.

Minty | Lurcher
Minty is a very happy and affectionate lurcher who is looking for a new home and adventures with an active family.  He is currently living in a foster home near Canterbury as an only dog, although he could quite happily live with other dogs.

Minty is looking for a new family who will take him on long walks, as lurchers love to be active when outdoors and find the best place in the house to sleep away the rest of the day.
We recommend training and socialisation classes as lurchers often need quite a lot of exercise which is best achieved by reaching really good recall so that they can run off that energy.

Minty is vaccinated, has had flea and worm treatments and is microchipped and castrated.

Grace | American Bulldog

Grace is a one year old female American Bull Dog.  There is always one dog you want to take home after your visit to the kennel and today it was Grace.  This girl was so loving and cuddle she would only interact with her handler and not look at the camera and spent most of the time on her back wanting tummy tickles.  Please watch the video to see what a sloppy pup she is.  We hope to add to the photos on the link in due course - http://s376.photobucket.com/user/nikmurphy/library/Scunthorpe%20Dogs/Grace?sort=3&page=1

Grace walks fantastically well on the lead.
