The Reading and District Branch of Cats Protection is one of over two hundred and fifty branches of CP volunteers in the UK, rescuing, treating, neutering and re-homing unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens. We aim to help several hundred local cats each year.

Established in 1985, we operate through a network of fosterers, who provide temporary accommodation for needy cats until safe, loving permanent homes can be found for them. The fosterers are supported by other volunteers who concentrate on fund-raising and the other administrative tasks that are needed by the organisation.
Reading is a large and busy (in cat terms) area and has been divided into two areas covered by two separate CP branches. We cover the area of postcodes RG30, RG31, RG4, RG8 and RG9. We also share the postcodes RG1, RG2 and RG7.
