We are involved in caring for the welfare of, rescuing and rehoming animals in the Lincolnshire Mid and Lincoln area.
Our branch, like all local RSPCA branches is a separate charity which though under the umbrella of the national RSPCA, is not centrally funded. Neither the national society nor this branch receives monies from the Government. This means we exist through donations from the local community and must raise funds through events within the branch's boundaries.
At any time, we have circa 6 – 10 dogs, 60+ cats, 10+ rabbits searching for homes. Our cats and some rabbits are cared for by volunteer foster mums, with our dogs and remaining rabbits being boarded at Panton Kennels near Lincoln.
Most of the dogs and cats with us have been much loved animals, and are in our care through absolutely no fault of their own.
We are currently desperately short of funds due to the increased number of animals that we are helping – around 3 months running costs left. Our main costs are vet bills, such things as flea / worming treatments and food. We are also trying to find more volunteers for all sorts of activities, including hands-on animal care / fund raising / working in the shop etc.
We could really do with some more volunteers for the shop, and it would be great if we could extend our opening hours, to raise more funds to help us care for more animals. The ensuing credit crunch will place more strain on all animal charities – we want to be able to help all the animals that will be in need in the coming months.

Amber and Bertie | Cross Breed (Small)
This cute pair of Lakeland / Patterdale Terrier crosses need to find a new home together.
Amber is 12, and is the longer haired of the pair, Bertie is 11 and is slightly more outgoing. They are best homed as only dogs, also without cats (although they have lived with cats before). They can be rehomed with children.
They are both lovely dogs who walk well on the lead. We hope their age will not mean they are in kennels for a long time.

Kipper | Staffie Cross
Kipper is a very handsome and stunning red Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross aged around three years. He's very good with children and gets on with other dogs. Kipper was a little nervous when you first approached him and wanted to stay in his kennel initially but within a few minutes he soon gained confidence and suddenly transformed into the happiest little boy in the kennel with a tail that wagged at a 100mph non stop! Max | Cross Breed (Medium)
Max is a medium sized crossbreed with a bit of German Shepherd in his bloodline. He's around 2-3 years old and really didn't want visitors to his kennel intially as he was a bit frightened. We opened the door and let him come to us in his own time. Max approached a 12 year old girl first and tucked himself under her arm. Once he knew his visitors were all friendly he soon became a very happy boy who thoroughly enjoyed his time out of the kennel with two children having lots of fuss and love. Various kittens | Moggy
We have a very high number of kittens as we've taken 20 from one home plus the usually influx post kitten season. Here are just some of the kittens we have but other colours and markings are also available.
Six 6 week old kittens 1 x solid grey kitten, 1 x solid grey with white freckle on chest, 1 x grey with white markings, 1 x white with black patches (reserved), 1 x black with white chest and 1 x black and white 'Felix' type cat.
Two Feral Kittens 1 x black with white freckle on chest 1 x black with white markings. These two need an extra special home or to go to someone looking for farm cats. They are clearly terrified of humans and unable to be handled. As they are so young there is a chance with time and patience they'll become good pets but will need someone prepared to spend a lot of time and patience developing their confidence in humans. It may take many weeks if not months to get these two to a point where they can be handled so a potential owner must understand what they are taking on but the rewards for having truly rescued a cat will be high.

Leo | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier
Leo is a male 2-3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Leo is good with other dogs and described by the kennel owner as "a nice boy". He's a young, strong boy and so full of energy. Once he's had a few minutes running around he soon calms down and comes for some fuss and attention. Visitors need to understand that Staffies absolutely love people and want to be with people all of the time so they literally erupt from their kennel full of the joys of life wanting to say hello at 100 mph. Just give them chance to calm down and you'll meet a boy for more like the pet you would take home. They are very loyal dogs who just don't want to leave your side.

We have a Mum, six daughters and one son of varying ages that all need rehoming. Two of the girls and one boy are very small and ready for rehoming shortly. Three of the girls are a little older. Minnie | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier
Minnie is a two year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She came to us from a very busy home with seven children and has gone from being a terrified little girl to an adorable cuddly sweetheart who is well loved by all volunteers and staff. Minnie adores having her tummy tickled and is such a good girl. She's go back into her kennel without any problems and rather amusingly always lies down when you tell her to sit! Lulu | Moggy
Lulu is a two year old female who is a cheeky little girl. She has white ankle socks at the front, knee socks on her back legs, white chest, a white smudge on her nose, white eyebrows and the most enormous white whiskers. Lulu can be a little naughty at times so you have to be careful when fussing her as she may decide she has had enough at some point and you'll find yourself getting a backhand! All in all though she's a lovely girl, you just have to know and respect her limits. She's a very good looking girl so we really hope someone will fall in love with her and can give her independence and space. Lulu is very playful and will give hours of entertainment as she chases things around and may well turn out to be an eternal kitten!

Tink is a stunning, semi long haired, black and white two year old boy. Tink is the son of Maisie and Milo also in our care. He has the most amazing coat, unusual markings and fabulous amber eyes. Cleo | Moggy
Cleo is a three and a half year old black and white girl who can be a very playful and a little naughty. We've kennelled her on her own for now but she may integrate with other cats. Cleo will be affectionate to a point but then she'll quickly feel the need to defend herself. We aren't sure if this is a lack of trust or if she's just a little cantakerous. At the age of three, she's probably always going to be a little unpredictable though so will need a home ready to be prepared for her. She's a beautiful cat and we often struggle to rehome moggies who aren't lapcats so we really hope Cleo doesn't spend many months with us purely as she has a limit to how much interaction she can cope with at one time. You'll soon learn her boundaries if you are prepared to give this playful, cheeky little minx a home.

Socks | Moggy
Socks is a six year old male black and white collar. He has two white socks, two white toes and a little white bib. He's a calm boy who has grown out of the playful stage so if you are looking for a moggy who won't run up the curtains or kill your slippers whilst your feet are still inside then this is the boy for you. Inquistive, affectionate and very level headed he's a lovely boy who could well live another 12 years or so. Older moggies and black and white cats tend to get overlooked but we hope this boy will capture someones heart with his white whiskers, one white eye brow and amazing pale green eyes. Socks is fine with other cats and currently shares his kennel happily.

Maisie | Moggy
Maisie is a three year old black and white female. She has two white toes on her front paws and two white socks on her back paws. Maisie is a real sweetie. She has the most beautiful pale green willow coloured eyes. When she's in her kennel she climb up the front bars to get your attention and rub her head up the door for affection yet when you open the door she's clearly a little timid preferring to stay at finger tip distance until she gets to know you. This girl will florish with an owner she can feel confident with as she's clearly desperate for attention and some proper love but a little afraid to get too close to a stranger. A really beautiful and young girl who happily shares her kennel with another cat.

Jessie | Moggy
Jessie is a gorgeous seven year old jet black female. She has a glossy coat and is a quiet girl who really enjoys exploring and having a good look and sniff around when let out of her kennel. Equally, she also enjoys a cuddle and really loves some affection. Jessie can be a little shy and didn't really want to leave the run outside her kennel making photographing a black cat in a shadow very difficult!! Please be reassured her photos do not do her justice and her video needs to be watched to appreciate what a good looking girl she is. Her pale green eyes are a fabulous contrast to that plush jet black coat. She could easily live another decade but will probably get overlooked as she's a black girl and over seven years old. Hopefully someone out there will fall in love with a calmer, older and very beautiful girl who in cat years is still only 35 and that isn't old!!!

Mork | Moggy
This Stunning boy is Mork, he is 13 years old and he is DIABETIC. He is sooooo affectionate and would be a great addition TO THE RIGHT HOUSEHOLD. Please take into account the cost for Morks medication (not huge cost, but has to be considered) and the timing for his injections. BOB is a sweet, gentle boy who is recovering from a fractured Hip. He was found as a stray. Bob needs to build up the muscle in his back legs, he is currently going for daily walks on a harness. As you can see from his photo he is very laid back!

Todd and Tally | Domestic Shorthair
TODD (tabby & white) & TALLY (tabby) came in as part of a group of 5. All were very nervous when they first came in, but they are all coming out of their shells and showing their true side. We don't know exactly how old they are, we have been told that they are between 1-6 years.

Shaggy and Ralph | Guinea Pig
Shaggy & Ralph - a bonded pair of boars, both 2 - 3 years of age.
Very large boars needing a lot of space - currently housed in a large playpen indoors. Require indoor heated home with plenty of room. Both have good appetites, and though a little shy, are becoming bolder. Ralph is grey/white, Shaggy is long haired tri-colour.

Bagpuss | Moggy
Bagpuss is a brown and white long haired tabby cat. He's one of our older residents aged around 8-9 years. He's calm, friendly and quiet and would suit someone looking for a low maintenance, low energy moggy. We really would like to see Bagpuss in a new home as soon as possible as he's an older lad.

Mindy | Moggy
MINDY - is a lovely girl with a mind of her own sometimes! She enjoys human company, and being fussed. She does get along with other cats, she is living with a boy at the moment. She is selective of what she wants to do and when! This may be down to the length of time that she has been in care and having to go back into a chalet, when she would rather be out looking into the garden. Mindy would make a great addition the right house.

Kipper is a very handsome and stunning red Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross aged around three years. He's very good with children and gets on with other dogs. Kipper was a little nervous when you first approached him and wanted to stay in his kennel initially but within a few minutes he soon gained confidence and suddenly transformed into the happiest little boy in the kennel with a tail that wagged at a 100mph non stop! A really lovely little chap who is an absolute charmer. More photos and video 
Max is a medium sized crossbreed with a bit of German Shepherd in his bloodline. He's around 2-3 years old and really didn't want visitors to his kennel intially as he was a bit frightened. We opened the door and let him come to us in his own time. Max approached a 12 year old girl first and tucked himself under her arm. Once he knew his visitors were all friendly he soon became a very happy boy who thoroughly enjoyed his time out of the kennel with two children having lots of fuss and love. Tilly and Pebbles came into together as they were abandoned by their owner. Stunning looking cats with unusual colouring who are both around 4-5 years old. Both are still a little timid but they've had a chance to give you a sniff they are more than happy to accept and enjoy some fuss. More photos and video - 
Maddie is a fabulous 15 year old girl who came into us with Ossie due to a marriage break up. She's a very affectionate lady who is fit and well apart from some scarring across her back which we have no history of. A beautiful girl and we really hope someone will ensure she ends her twilight years in a home. More photos and video 
Cody is a beautiful, but slightly shy, ginger and white boy of about 1-2 years. He came in with Tess. Once Cody gets to know you and feels comfortable he is a really friendly boy, just give him time to settle. Cody and his friend Tess will make a great addition to a household.
