Saskia and Alexander | Moggy

Saskia and Alexander are a pair of 9 month old kittens to be homed together. They came into our care, as their owner was unable to cope with them. Unfortunately Alexander had a serious eye injury needing treatment but sadly his eye had deteriorated and had to be removed. He is unaffected by the loss of his eye and is a very confidant, lively and loving cat who loves to jump on your shoulder and lap.

Saskia is a little shy to start and needs time to get to know you, but once she gains her confidence, she is very playful and affectionate. They will need a quieter home as Saskia will need to settle in and find her paws in her own time, and although Alexander manages very well with one eye, he will always be vulnerable on his blind side so he will need a home in a quiet environment on a road with little traffic, as he isn’t always cautious.

Socks | Domestic Longhair

Socks was dumped outside the cattery on the 8th November, she was lucky to be found it was only because the amount of fireworks going off the cattery manager went to check on the cats to make sure they were ok, when she stumbled on an empty cardboard box, she picked it up to put in the bin. As she went to tear the box up she noticed writing on the side with please take care of Socks, black and white, female cat born 25/07/08. The search was on to find her, with firework going off, we thought she would be long gone and then suddenly pair of eyes was seen. She was cowering by a wall, terrified, we thought she would run off but we managed to grab her and put her in a pen. The next day she was still terrified and has taken her months to settle, she doesn’t like other cats which makes life in the cattery very upsetting for her and she will sit in her pen hissing and growling, but when there are no other cats around she changes in to a different cat, she wants to be cuddled, snuggles into your neck and wants attention. Because she is a little nervous we wouldn’t home her with young children nor with other cats or dogs.

She is fully vaccinated, neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

We ask for a minimum donation of £65 per cat

Micky and Marlo | Mixed

Micky and Marlo are farther and son who are looking for a new home together. This pair are looking for a special, loving forever home as neither have had a great life. Micky came in with his partner Minnie and three babies. These babies were only three weeks old and were Minnie’s second litter one after another, on examination it was obvious that Minnie was due to give birth very shortly and because Micky and Minnie were very close we neutered him straight away so he could stay with Minnie. Just over a week after they had come into us Minnie gave birth to another 4 babies, the strain of raising them obviously proved too much and when the babies were just 3 weeks old Minnie passed away. Micky took the roll on to bring up his babies with us supplementing their feeds. Unfortunately one of the female babies had a mini stroke and recovered, but one male had a severe stroke and passed away. Mickey is very attached to his son and would like them to be homed together. Mickey is a black and white, medium sized, mixed breed, he is very friendly and likes a fuss, he was born in January 2009. Marlo is going to be a medium sized, mixed breed, who is white with black markings, he was born on 22/08/09 he is a little nervous and needs more handling. Marlo will need to be neutered when his 6 months old to prevent him from fighting with his dad. Both rabbits are vaccinated against Myxi and Hvd.

Tia | Lop

Tia is a medium size, harlequin lop. We do not have much information on her as she was found as a stray, so have no idea of her age. She is a friendly rabbit and can be handled fairly easily but can be a little grumpy when in her hutch. She is vaccinated against Myxi and Hvd but is NOT neutered.

Molly | Domestic Shorthair

Molly is a young, female, white and tabby, short haired cat. She was given as a gift, but wasn’t wanted and never settled with the ladies dog, so was signed into our care. Molly was born in May 2009, she doesn’t like other cats and not keen on dogs, so would need to be an only cat. Because of her dislike of other cats she hasn’t settled in to the cattery very well, she is very scared and will occasionally hiss whilst people are viewing, this is only because she is scared and hoping people will overlook this behaviour as she is a friendly, playful cat.

She is fully vaccinated, neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

We ask for a minimum donation of £65 per cat

Lucy | Greyhound

Lucy is our very special OAP Hound.  She is 9 years old and has sadly never lived in a home before and has probably never known any love.  She is currently living in a foster home but would really a love a home of her own.

Lucy is fit and well and still young at heart.  She is good with other dogs but not cats.  Lucy is very very affectionate and ever so pretty - could you be the one who can give her a happy home life where she can be loved for the rest of her days.

Lucy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Chelsea | Domestic Longhair

Chelsea is a beautiful longhair tortoishell cat.

She is a very pretty and friendly girl who requires a quiet home without children or pets.

We also need to rehome her where there are not vast amounts of neighbouring cats as she used to live with cats and was not suited to this environment as she had cystitis probably brought on through stress.

Since being at the centre, given time to settle and  having her own house ! she is doing really well and now needs to find a new home.

Chelsea would love access to a garden and requires a special diet to keep her free from cystitis. Blue Cross can supply her diet at cost price form the centre (cheaper than the vets) and help towards vets bills offered if required. She will need to be adopted out on the 'supported adoption 'scheme for help with vets bills which we will gladly offer to get this special cat into a new home. Please visit Blue Cross and speak to Carolyn or Maria regarding all details.

Holly | American Bulldog

Holly is an incredibly sweet and gentle natured American Bull Dog. We think she is around two years old and although we don’t have any history on her think she would probably be fine with other dogs and children.   Holly is very affectionate, calm, placid and adorable.

Holly has recently been returned to us.  She has been a wonderful dog to the family who rehomed her however she does have an issue which needs addressing by anyone willing to add her to their family.  Holly has an obsession with lights.  The vet has checked her over and she's been given the all clear but Holly will literally climb the walls to get the flashing light of your alarm sensor.  She has clearly been tomented by lights as a puppy and needs behavioural therapy to break this habit.  Holly therefore needs an owner willing to take on this issue and address it so she can live a long and happy life.  She is perfect in every other way as well as being a gorgeous dog so we really hope there is someone special out there who can help.

betty | Staffordshire Bull Terrrier

Betty is a gorgeous elderly staffy girl who came to us from the stray pounds. She is an adorable lady who currently shares her kennel with another dog. Betty really needs to be in a warm and comfy home as soon as possible. She has a cough which has been checked out by our vet who informs us that Betty's heart is fine so she may have little problem with her lungs. Betty's back legs are not that strong. However, this does not stop her from scampering around and enjoying her walks. Betty has had a couple of fits since she has been with us so we really do want her out of kennels quickly to be looked after in a home environment.

Betty is house trained and although she gets on with other dogs when out and about on her walks she definitely wants to be top dog in the home and rule the roost! So we feel Betty would perhaps be best suited as an only pet. Betty is extremely affectionate and loving, and enjoys being cuddled. She is happy to be touched all over, have her ears checked and be groomed. She is very playful, likes toys and comes when called or whistled, charging at you for a hug!

Please can you offer Betty the home she deserves? She desperately needs a forever home but if you can offer Betty a foster home in the meantime she will return your kindness a million times over.
